plugin sitemap for xmap was created by walturbo

Hello to everyone. I recently tried to install the plugin for Xmap found here: XMAP plugin for Gary's Cookbook

Doesn't work. I have 800 recipes on my site, but the sitemap remains unchanged even if the plugin is correctly installed. My version of Gary's is 3.0.9 and the plugin has been tested with 3.0.5. Someone could tell me why it does not work? Or do you have alternatives? Should I submit the sitemap to Google and do not know how.
